Sports 12/15/23



Taking a look at some of the local high school varsity basketball games from yesterday … first for the boys where we find Watersprings downing Raft River 49 to 32.  It was North Fremont over Declo 56 to 49.  Kimberly outlasted Jerome 48 to 45.  Wood River overpowered Burley 52 to 25.  Preston said no to Minico 64 to 38.  It was Carey 50 Challis 38. 


For the girls, Raft River took the win over Butte County with a 47 to 44 score.  Kimberly overpowered Canyon Ridge 65 to 25.  Richfield outlasted Wendell 38 to 22.  Shoshone took the win over Hagerman 33 to 22.  Twin Falls defeated Century 60 to 31.  It was Carey 41 to Challis 29. 


In boys wrestling in the Minico Tri-meet, Minico the champs over Caldwell and Twin Falls. In the Burley Tri Meet, Jerome went 2-0 with wins over Burley and Canyon Ridge.  In the Mountain Home Tri Meet, the Mountain Home tigers took the win over Kimberly and Wood River. 


In girls wrestling, at the Minico Tri-meet, Canyon Ridge won their matchups, while Jerome and Wood River won theirs.


On the high school varsity basketball schedule for today, first for the boys, Minico will be part of the Preston Indians classic.  Glenns Ferry will play Centennial Baptist as part of the Rolly Lincoln Memorial tournament in Wilder.  Camas Country will travel to Horseshoe bend.  Rockland goes to Hagerman, Riverstone to Lighthouse Christian in Twin Falls.  Oakley heads to Declo, Murtaugh to Dietrich, Snake River goes to Kimberly, Castleford to Shoshone, and Richfield travels north to the Sun Valley Community School.  Hansen goes to Watersprings, Buhl to Wood River. 


On Saturday, Marsh Valley will head to Filer. Burley will host Vallivue.  Valley goes to Gooding, Butte County goes to Oakley, Mackay visits Richfield.


For the girls, tonight, Filer, Preston, Jerome, Murtaugh and Mountain Home will  be part of the

Jerry Callen Memorial Tournament in Jerome.  Buhl travels to Wood River.   Declo heads to Aberdeen.  Camas County to Glenns Ferry.  Caldwell heads to Burley, Raft River to Dietrich, Minico heads to Shelley. 


On  Saturday, Valley travels to Gooding.  Mackay will be at Richfield.
