More quagga mussels have been found in the Twin Falls area of the Snake River. The state department of Agriculture said that they detected a small number yesterday. In 2023, the ISDA treated the river with a chelated copper product. Access to the Snake River at Centennial Park remains open with mandatory inspection and decontamination for all watercraft. Pillar Falls to Twin Falls dam is closed.
One man is missing this morning after authorities in Twin Falls County found a pickup truck submerged in the low line canal at East Drive South yesterday. The truck is believed to have been driven by Marvin Orellana Orozoco. Deputies say there was damage to a guard rail near the waterway.
The Idaho Department of Correction is renovating the execution chamber at the Idaho Maximum Security Institution near Kuna. The change comes after the failed execution attempt of 74-year-old Thomas Creech on Feb. 28, in which the medical team could not establish an IV line to carry out his execution by lethal injection. The department called off his execution.
School districts statewide will be asking local taxpayers for nearly $242 million in November’s election. Voters across 25 counties will be asked to fund education measures that would go toward teacher and staff salaries, sports, extracurriculars, building maintenance, classroom supplies, and more. In Hansen, a 5 year 1-million-dollar plant facility levy if passed would raise taxes 86 dollars per 100 thousand assessed value. In Camas County $600 thousand supplemental levy is on the Ballot. In Gooding a 2 year 1-point-5-million-dollar Levy. In Hansen a 2-year $580 thousand supplemental Levy. In Jerome a 2 year 3.5-million-dollar levy and in Twin Falls a 2 year 14.4-million-dollar levy.
CSI and ISU have inked a deal that will tie the schools together with several classes. The agreement will assist those in the nursing programs along with other classes, allowing them to get ISU credits while attending CSI.

As the CSI Men's Basketball team gears up for its 2024-2025 season, Coach Reinert has rounded out his coaching staff with the additions of Harrison Van Dyke and Kevin Galloway.
Catch your first glimpse of the 2024-2025 Men's and Women's Basketball Teams along with the cheerleaders, dance team and pep band Tuesday Oct. 1 at 6 p.m. in the CSI Gymnasium. Both teams will hold an intra-squad scrimmage. The men's team will take on the women's team in a 3-point shooting contest and several members of the men's squad will compete in a dunk contest. The CSI Cheer, Dance and Pep Band will perform as well as a special appearance by the CSI Mini Eagles Flight Crew.

From games played locally, first for boys’ soccer Wood River knocked off Burley 3 to 1. Mountain home downed Minico 7 to 1 and Jerome took the win over Twin Falls 2 to 1.
For the girls, Mountain Home took the win over Minico 9 to 0. Twin Falls outlasted Jerome 4 to 0. Wood River defeated Burley 4 to 2.
