From the high school baseball scoreboard yesterday, Lighthouse Christian downed Idaho City 11 to 1. In a double header, Twin Falls took the win over Wood River in both games, 13 to 3 and 15 to 1.
In softball action, Twin Falls took the win over Wood River in the first game of a double header 16 to 0. Wood River turned it around in the second game 13 to 12. Pocatello for the win over Jerome in two games 12 to 1 and 13 to 0. Glenns Ferry won both of their games over Wilder 25 to 1 and 23 to 0. Gooding for the win over Buhl 8 to 1 and Wendell for the win over Melba 5 to 3.
On the baseball schedule, for today, locally, Preston will visit Declo.
The Boise State men's tennis team found out yesterday afternoon where it will open the NCAA Championship and who its opponent will be. The Broncos, fresh off the 2024 Mountain West Tournament Championship, will face the 11th-ranked Arizona Wildcats Friday in Tucson for the second-straight year. The winner will face the winner of the No. 39 Pepperdine versus No. 24 Auburn match.
The College of Southern Idaho Men's Rodeo Team finished up its regular season Friday and Saturday at the Utah Valley University Rodeo, taking second. The Golden Eagle Women placed seventh. The CSI Men's Team won the Rocky Mountain Region Title and will have eight men representing the Golden Eagles at the College National Finals Rodeo June 9th-15th in Casper, Wyo. On the women's side, the Golden Eagles ended the season seventh in the Rocky Mountain Region. At UVU, Fallon Jones took eighth in Breakaway Roping and Dakota Brower placed eighth in Goat Tying.
In college softball, Senior Taylor Caudill pitched 5 2/3 innings of shutout ball and Alycia Flores blasted a three-run home run to lead Boise State to an 8-4 victory over New Mexico, Sunday. Boise State opens a three-game series at Colorado State, Thursday at 6 p.m.
The Idaho State Bengals, battling the elements, wrapped up a 2-1 series win over the Weber State Wildcats at Miller Ranch Stadium, Sunday afternoon. It was Weber State 6 Idaho state 4 in game one. The bengals turned it around in game two 7 to 6. In game 3 it was Idaho state 8 Weber State 0. The Bengals are back home for a pair of non-conference matchups. First the Bengals welcome the BYU Cougars to Miller Ranch tomorrow at 4:00 PM . The Bengals then face the UVU Wolverines, Wednesday at 4:00 PM to close out the regular season.
