Shooting in Boise.  One Ada County Deputy is dead along with a suspect.  Police say it happened Saturday night when the deputy was conducting a traffic stop.  Video shows the deputy never made it to the window of the suspects’ car when he was shot.  A bystander quickly rushed to the deputy’s side to conduct cpr.  27 year old deputy Tobin Bolter died yesterday morning just before 10.  The suspect was found Saturday night who began shooting at Boise police officers who returned fire and he died at the scene.   Flags have been ordered half-staff by the governor until the deputy’s memorial service. 



Wednesday the Supreme Court will debate whether states have the power to outlaw life-saving abortions in hospital emergency rooms. The court will hear Idaho v. United States to determine if the narrow exceptions in Idaho’s near-total abortion ban override federally mandated requirements for physicians



Federal regulators are allowing construction to begin on expanding a controversial gas pipeline running from Washington, across a part of Idaho and through Oregon to northern California. In 2021, TC Energy asked the federal energy commission to allow it to increase the pipeline’s capacity, adding millions of cubic feet of gas extracted by fracking to the pipeline each day.



Micron Technology will get $6.1 billion from the CHIPS Act to fund large-scale expansions in Boise and Syracuse, NY. Micron has started work on a $15-billion expansion of its Boise campus. The Boise expansion would add nearly 2,000 jobs.  



Some school districts in the area will be asking for patrons to decide on funding when people go to the polls May 21st.  Voters across 44 counties will be asked to fund local bonds or levies, totaling $183 million.  Camas County is asking for a 9 million dollar bond for a new vocational center.  Castleford a 8.25 million dollar bond for three new classrooms and completion of the gym. As far as levy’s Buhl 1.3 million.  Cassia County 5.59 million.  In Richfield 360-thousand. Shoshone 600-thousand, Wendell 1.2 million and Blaine County  3.7 million.
